Our initial goal was simple: to promote continuous learning and reshape our brains by taking on something completely new — Mandarin. We weren’t aiming for perfection, just progress. What we didn’t expect was how much more we’d gain along the way.
Despite our busy schedules, and packed meetings, we stayed committed. Every week, we showed up for lessons – sometimes tired, sometimes distracted but always present
We stumbled over tones, mixed up characters, and got tongue-tied more times than we could count. We laughed through what was arguably xiǎo māo… or maybe not. Then we realize it wasn’t just about learning a new language. It was also about learning together. Helping each other through tricky bits, celebrating small wins, and reminding one another why we started. It became a team thing — not just a class, but a shared experience.
A heartfelt xie xie to Kong Laoshi and Kent Laoshi for your guidance, patience, and encouragement.
